Below is a memo from Shawn Ford, Head of Community Football, regarding the standardisation of the laws of the game across all community leagues.
This was a topic of conversation at the recent league forum at West Lakes, attended by competition presidents, with overwhelming support from the floor to use the same laws across the state.
Key changes are:
25 metre penalty instead of 50m
No need for nomination of ruckmen around the ground at ball ups and throw ins (as long as only 1 from each team contest the ball up/in).
Continue with last disposal out of bounds across the entire ground.
Deliberate rushed behind clarification provided.
6-6-6 rule now not requiring players in the goal square at centre bounces (this rule is now mandatory for all affiliated leagues).
Yellow card time off to be 10 minutes of playing time but can be replaced in all grades.
Red card – player off for the remainder of the game but can be replaced after 10 minutes of game time in all grades.
